No, I'm saying he is allowed his views, which isn't or shouldn't be the issue. The issue is others equally having the right to challenge those views. Superb sportsmanship and modesty in my opinion . His first words after beating Wladimir Klitschko was to tell him " He was a great champion and thank him for the opportunity " He still has my vote . mancmart Posted December 13, 2015 Share Posted December 13, 2015 I don't think Tyson is a homophobe at all, although his comments were a bit silly, unhelpful even, he says he's not a homophobe; and knowing his pedigree, I believe him. I sparred with his dad (John) many years ago, although he could have easily flattened me he was a gentleman! My lads train at the same armature gym where Tyson learned his trade, and he is a legend in Wythenshawe. As someone said, a lot of this nonsense originates from the right wing fear of the Irish traveller community, and Tyson's silly comments have played into their hands so that they can create a bogey man to hate, as they did all those years ago with Jack Johnson and Muhammad Ali. This is blatant racism, but Tyson is a young lad, he'll shrug it off. If I could offer him a bit of advice, it would be to embrace the gay community, don't give the racists a chance to have a pop, and then claim the spoty in the same style he claimed the biggest prize in sport, and bagged me a nice bet!
