Lee Rigbys killer to sue police.

Recommended Posts

I understand the Mother of Lee Rigby has wrote to David Cameron asking why the murderer of he son is allowed to seek compensation .

My view is if a prisoner is mistreated, then the person who has caused the mistreatment should be punished rather than the prisoner being allowed to sue assuming there is evidence to back up the claim . If or when the prisoner is released, then he/she can attempt to sue should they choose .

In the case of the terrorist who murdered Lee Rigby , common sense tells me that quite a bit of reasonable force would be needed to restrain such a violent person and accidental injuries are not really surprising .

The answer would be because it's within his legal remit to do so. Really simple really.

And what legal remit did Lee Rigby have while he was being murdered ?

I agree with the Muslim labour MP who said ..........

‘This is just taking the mickey out of the taxpayer after this man committed such a heinous crime.’

So prisoners are to lose the right to legal redress? Meaning that if the prison service mistreat them they have no way to do anything about it.

Is that your proposal?

Nope, but do you think a prisoner should be able to sue for anything whatsoever? If someone came on here claiming they tripped over a matchstick in the street and its the councils fault what would be the reaction? My point is prisoners are suing for things that are out of the control of the authoritys and its causing chaos in the prison system. If this were a cat A prisoner being escorted to county court it has massive implications.

I agree, Lee Rigby's killer is up to no good by taking advantage of our freedoms to cause outrage, but is it worth our society losing some of it's freedoms just to get one over this piece of scum?

I think that we all need to forget about the killer, and stop giving him the notoriety that he so obviously craves.

Your 'point' seems to change at every turn.

Initially it was that prisoners have too many rights. When challenged that turned into that they shouldn't be able to sue. When challenged that turned into that they shouldn't be able to make spurious claims.

None, but that's irrelevant to the question of the right to sue should there be a case.

Do you actually think the LR's killer has a conscience, you're stating the obvious. Western values do include conscience and a right to be heard whoever it is from a legal viewpoint..even though it may upset. You personally would have my freedoms curtailed in order for your fevered needs to be satisfied...thankfully that will not happen. As for the killer, well he's behind bars..that'll pretty much do for me..hopefully never to see the light of day again.

The murderer is behind bars . There is a difference between someone being killed and murdered.

Maybe there should be some kind of D-Notice or Reporting Restrictions regarding convicted terrorists while they are serving their sentences .
