Janus
I know the Dutch are quite liberated, but I am surprised by this new law. I wonder what the Dutch think to uk laws in respect of the adult industry etc. http://metro.co.uk/2015/12/19/dutch-driving-instructors-can-now-accept-sex-as-payment-5575568/ Edited December 20, 2015 by Janus
cgksheff
Is there really a new specific law? Some sloppy reporting is zipping round the net, but none are referencing this "new law". My understanding is that a question has been answered by a government official regarding an apparent practice. What is clear is that you have to be careful in the language that you use about this. When you infer (in your thread title) that "instructors can accept .....", you would be mistaken. "Prostitutes can accept lessons as payment" would be a more accurate representation of the situation. Presumably in the same way that they could accept a paint job from a decorator. I think that the same situation does exist in the UK. Nagel
It's not even illegal in this country is it? If a driving instructor want to accept sex as payment surely it's a private matter? Oh it's a story in Metro, therefore not real news. Edited December 20, 2015 by Nagel

Oh it's a story in Metro, therefore not real news. "The Metro is a free newspaper published in tabloid format in the United Kingdom by DMG Media (part of Daily Mail and General Trust)." Says it all, part of the Daily Mail so it must be objectively reported. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metro_(British_newspaper)

I think you're correct, prostitution isn't illegal in the, so there's nothing to stop a private arrangement of lessons for sex or sex for lessons. A mutual exchange of services, as it were. I have no problem with this payment in kind idea. It could take off .
tzijlstra
Well, as you wonder... I don't think anything about them, I don't use prostitutes. It can't be all that backward either by the way, seeing as how a lot of porn is produced in this country, if that isn't payment for sex then I don't know what is. But, as Penistone says, Britain is a bit stuck behind times, a result of the silly legislative system that is a result of the even more silly and antiquated democratic system.
