What does The Queen watch on the telly?

Recommended Posts

I saw a photo of HM The Queen yesterday. She was in her living room with a copy of the Radio Times clearly visible under a coffee table. It conjoured up visions of Madge & Phill fighting over the remote.

It got me wondering what they watch on the box.

Do they watch Homes Under The Hammer or trawl the late night "adult" channels? Does Buck House have a Sky Dish?

I would like to think they sit watching Downton Abbey rather than The Apprentice or Corrie.

What do you think?

Slightly related, the King of the Netherlands, ZKH Willem Alexander (Aka WimLex), took his three daughters to the MacDonalds in the Netherlands. He was photographed by a few others that were there at the time (he chose a quiet time to go).

MacDonalds brought out an immediate advert on Facebook, pronouncing that even the Burger King uses MacDonalds... brilliant :)

That out of the way, I believe the queen is quite fond of gameshows, all sorts of them. Pointless is apparently a favourite as are QI and HIGNFY.

What are the Queen's favourite TV shows?

According to the Radio Times, the Queen loves EastEnders, Coronation Street, Keeping Up Appearances, Last of the Summer Wine and Doctor Who (rumour holds that her favorite Doctor is Christopher Eccleston). It is also said that the Queen had a soft spot for Telly Savalas’ Kojak.

I was actually down London the other day walking past the palace and I saw her and I said alright Madge you alright? She went "Aye just watching some Sheffield Live on Freeview with Parker Bowles, DJ Cardiac is dropping some bad numbers"

So there you have it.
