Yes indeed, the hate machine of the Tory press is having a big impact.

What absolute drivel. The whole tone of the Cameron supporting press has been a reflection of that mans basic conservatism.

He is a one nation Tory, his is the government that has started the ball rolling regarding the Northern Powerhouse, a concept originated in the 80s by Tories, supported across all parties and left to rot under Blair and Brown. Cameron has created more jobs than any other PM. His commitment to the NHS is open ended.

What more do you want? Maybe an end to flooding? Regretably that is in the hands of the almighty who is, as you know, a crossbencher.

Not sure what this 'powerhouse' is meant to do, change us from wearing flat caps and eating pies?

There are roughly 20% of people with 'special needs', which with specialist work centres closed down by our Government, they will need to find work in 'ordinary' jobs.

Many will not be able to find work, many people are unaware of these people, some think they are scroungers.

"It is a picture apparently borne out by official figures, which show that affluent Richmond upon Thames in west London has 11.8 per cent of primary pupils on the SEN register. In Liverpool, with its higher levels of unemployment and poverty, that figure is 22.6 per cent."

I don't get this, so are you saying that special needs are caused by simply not being rich? I'm certainly finding it very hard to believe that 2 in every 10 kids/adults have special needs!! What is the breakdown of these special needs, do you know?

There are 1.91 million unemployed, its lowest level for more than six years, great news, the Tories have managed to get to the same rate as Labour.

I am not saying that at all, just quoting a news item.

I think that the numbers for adults may be lower, but I have no facts on that. It would make an interesting topic all on its own.

However, there are 631,000 less public sector jobs according to the ONS.

So the Tories have managed to reduce the bloated public sector.

So in just 5 years of coalition and less than a year on their own they have managed to reduce unemployment by 600,000, increase employemnt in the private sector and reduce it in the tax payer funded public sector. Thats impresive.

Some of the people that I know on benefits have mental health problems, one has a bit of a funny walk, but on the other hand I have seen people that have suffered the effects of the thalidomide drug, and they still work.

We are all different, should even disabled people be forced to work? Who decides?

I know a man with a limp that goes to the pub 2-4 times per week in his Nissan Qashqai motobility car, but yet he does not work, I dont know if he is capable of some work.

Should he be forced to work? A very nice car, for someone not working, is he a scrounger? I even wished him a Merry Christmas.

If that's the best that you can do you really need to get somebody to explain what workshy/scrounger means.

By your own reckoning roughly 20% of people with 'special needs' aren't workshy and can work in spite of their 'special needs'. Maybe your friend with the limp can also get a job, perhaps in a pub or as a cab driver. Then you won't be wondering if he is a scrounger.
