Jax1
Does anyone know which areas of Sheffield were allocated for slum clearance and the people rehoused on the new Norfolk Park estate when it was first built?
myrnaloy
My Aunt was relocated to Norfolk Park in the 60s. She had lived on Lansdown Road, Sheffield 11, which was demolished shortly afterwards. The Norfolk Park house was lovely and in an area with a wonderful view, but we have great memories of Lansdown Road and the community around it. Jax1
Thanks Myrna. I lived in one of the tower blocks at the top and loved it. Apart from winter when there was no way to keep the flat warm enough for me. 150 above the ground, gale force winds and no double glazing. Brrr! But the view was lovely, whatever the season.
