S8 Blade
Hi all, My nan's bank statement has a direct debit for £5 each month with the reference "Dass cover" - unfortunately, nobody has any idea what Dass cover is! We can't find any paperwork for it and I can't find anything on Google. It could be for satellite TV cover (she has several of them!) or appliance cover. Any help or ideas greatly appreciated! Thanks
ECCOnoob
Is it definitely DASS?? or is it DAS. There is a large insurer called DAS that does many things from motor legal protection through to home protection. http://www.das.co.uk/legal-protection/for-families It might have been something that was set up through an "added extra" bank account or some legal protection insurance supplied through another policy such as a car/home/travel insurance
Siân
Your Nan needs to call her bank and ask for the details of the company the payment is being made to - they will have the company name and may even have a contact number. She also needs to ask for the originator code (6 digits - it's the sort code of the bank account your Nan's money is being paid to) and the payment reference number. The payment reference number is likely to be her account number with the company she's paying - so it should make it easier for her to get through any security checks when she calls them. This is the difficulty - she can't phone them herself, she won't allow us to do POA, and the bank will only allow us limited access to her account without POA! We've managed to sort them all except this one, and I just can't find any details anywhere. Puzzling! ---------- Post added 05-01-2016 at 19:32 ---------- Is it definitely DASS?? or is it DAS. It's definitely DASS. Good shout about an add on - another avenue to explore!
the_bloke
Just cancel the DD; you'll soon find out who it was, as they'll write to you asking for payment.
