truman
To con you into disclosing bank/security details. They promise to make a payment, but instead they make a large withdrawal. Why would you give security details out to anyone over the phone?
milquetoast1
Why would you give security details out to anyone over the phone? I wouldn't. If you mean why would anybody give security details out to anybody over the phone, then I can only guess, but unfortunately a small percentage of people do, which is why these scams persist. Perhaps the elderly and/or vulnerable can be conned this way, and it's pretty despicable.
Penistone999
Not recently, but had a few in the past. Sadly all are a scam! Could do with the extra few quid at the moment! I treat EVERY letter the scroungers at HMRC send me as a scam .
