Ballance of power, workers vs employers

You can do better than that. There isn't a single socialist country on earth at the moment. Calling yourself socialist and being socialist are not the same things. For starters socialism would mean having no money, not a single country that has no money to my knowledge.

Socialist is used in relative terms and it is quite legitimate to do so. Otherwise there are no capitalist countries either and we have no way of discussing the matter.

That's a fair point. I genuinely wasn't trying to be pedantic on this, but we don't have anything really bordering on a genuine socialist state, whereas we have many countries that border on genuine capitalism.

Throwing a spanner in the works here: but what is so wrong with the world we have now that we are trying to fix it? I look around me and I see a wonderful place full of amazing people, nature, opportunities etc. There are things that aren't so good, wars, needless suffering etc, but these can be fixed without looking to rip up our entire system and replace it. Everyone seems so preoccupied with trying to reach nirvana that they fail to see that there isn't one.

The massive level of inequality, the starving people, those in poverty, the increasing lack of social mobility, all of which then causes things like brexit and trump... Self destructive for those who voted for these things, but all they understand is that the status quo doesn't work for them, so they vote for a change.

You say this kind of thing a lot but it's clear that these are things you assert on the basis of faith in the virtue of a statism. Whilst it may seem perfectly clear to you, just asserting it is unlikely to convince anybody who currently thinks otherwise.
