Anyone know what Filey is like?

Lovely place all that everyone says. Only thing is in peak season like all places difficult to get parking space near seafront. Car parks on top of hill and bit of a steep climb.

Yes parking is a real problem there, we stayed in 5Leys apartments on the front and I was driving around for ages.

Excellent place to buy and eat fresh crab.

I live only a few miles away and can recommend it. The John Paul pub on site does super meals and you're only a short run away from Scarborough.

I think I must have been there on holiday every summer for at least 15 years running back in the 60's/70's. As a kid it was brilliant and holds many great memories of summers gone by.

 

Miles of beach and a long way to the sea if the tide was out. Amusements at Coble Landing, boats, archery, putting green at the park on the north side.

 

Exploring the Brig. It was dangerous then and still is now even though warnings and fences are prevalent.... and there's much less of it due to erosion.

 

As others have said, it has a yesteryear feel but if you've got kids and the weather's good it can be a fantastic place

Filey is lovely. The town is nice. The beach is beautiful. It is a few minutes drive to Scarborough. Go there, enjoy.
