the fonz
a couple of minutes away There are plenty of decent boozers and places to eat a couple of minutes away from the Moor, even now. Without wanting to go around in circles it just sounds like you just don't like walking.
Hogg
Delighted to hear there are going to be restaurants attached to the new cinema complex - even if they are chain restaurants, that has to be a huge improvement for the Moor, and London Road isn't a million miles away for an nice independent restaurant. The new Cinema has to be good for Sheffield - the Odeon is downright scary, and the Moor really needs to be brought into the night time economy. After the shops close it has always been a bit intimidating and hopefully the cinema complex will change that. I know people are going on about parking, but equally a lot of people live just a short bus ride from the city centre. Why worry about parking? There are loads of places to eat on London road or West street.
foxy lady
I doubt it, but I'm not massively bothered. Well we all differ. I think if we weren't making a night of it and dining out, we would download a movie and order a takeaway and get down a bottle of Pinot at home. At least it wouldn't be warmed up freezer food. So do you imagine any of the bars will offer decent beer or will they be John Smiths Smooth and Carling outlets? the fonz
even if they are chain restaurants I would imagine they need to be meet rent requirements. I cant think of any independents in the prime locations?

In the last few weeks we dined at Minnies in Stannington, The Riverside at Hillsborough, Fagins, Uncle Sam's, Swanky Frank's, Beijing City, Ferdinando's at Norton, The Harland, and Eggos. Mind you we did park outside each of them. We did try a steak place on London Road about a year ago, but after we ordered food they told us they didn't serve alcohol, or even allow us to bring our own. Bizzare. Hogg
The only thing that worries me is the dates the cinema is supposed to be opening. It was going to be this year, and now 2017. I hope it is ready by then. Much as I love the Showroom, I would like to have a choice.

Oh..Beijing City..Do they still do the buffet there? Well it's not really a buffet 'cos the food isn't out on the side all the time..they bring you what you want from the kitchen..it's been really good the times we've been.. Two good Chinese places directly opposite the new cinema block, the glorious Shapla at moorfoot, the Baan Thai at one end of the Moor and at the other end, the chain places around the Peace Gardens. Cyclone
Initially I'm not sure there will even be a bar. If one does open though, it would be a huge mistake to not offer decent beer. I prefer to cook rather than eat freezer food, be that from a chain restaurant or home.
