Hi only me again.

I have almost managed to book everything however after much research it seems that may is the quieter period.

I'm going the 1st of May I didn't know this when booking.

Will it be quite in kata beach and phi phi?

I wanted to go to Ko Lanta 10/05for 4 days but I have also

read that the Ferrys stop to Ko Lanta saladan pier in May due to the season.

Has anyone ever been?

I don't want to book my hotel in KO Lanta and not be able to get there.

Thanks guys Xx

Just a quick update.

I'd like to thank everyone for all the advice they gave me.

1 word WOW we had the most amazing fantastic time I didn't want to come home what was I ever worried about :/

Everything was perfect, the people the hotels the ferrie crossings was so smooth and so easily accessible it's so simple.

I can't wait to return loved KO lanta and kata beach, patong didn't float my boat however I felt like I needed to visit same with phi phi stayed 5 days but could easily get away with staying 3.

My partner proposed to me on out last night in Phi phi :D

I could go on and on and on and I can't wait to return.

Thanks again Sarah X

I've been and come back haha

I have to say phi phi was my least favourite place I liked maya bay and I liked meeting different folk which was traveling and passing through.

However it was very commercialised absolutely nuts with bars and clubs on the beach and the morning after the beaches was trashed with beer bottles cans and mess.

A real shame as in a few years time I can see this being party Central.

Not for me unfortunately much preferred other parts of Thailand although I still really enjoyed it Xx

Thailand has a bit of everything. Phi Phi is busy but then we stayed in Kah Tao which was beautiful for a few days rest after we did the full moon party on NYE.

I can't wait to return loved KO lanta and kata beach

Ko Lanta gets many thousands of tourists each year. But I bet only a few of them ever realise that the island is about 70% Muslim. Something TAT keeps rather quiet about, except when they are advertising to tourists from the richer Muslim countries on the Gulf. In fact the whole area of southern Thailand gets more and more Muslim the further south you go and some islands and small towns and villages are very heavily Muslim.

even Phuket where Kata is has quite a lot of Muslims. About 40%.

many believe that the Thais undercount the number of Muslims in the country, and that the commonly quoted statistic that it is '95% Buddhist' is over the mark. Some think it is less than that and it is more like 85% nationwide.

overcounting like this is believed to happen in other SEAsian countries too. Malaysia overcounts the number of Muslims. And the Philippines overcounts the number of Catholics.

You can clearly see that Ko lanta is mostly Muslim.

Totally different from anywhere else I visited very welcoming and they made me feel very much at ease I loved KO lanta and can't wait to return my favourite place.
