foxy lady Posted January 30, 2016 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Douwe Egberts Coffee. I love the stuff, but the last couple of those plastic seal airtight jars are just about impossible to open. I wondered if the tops are getting tighter or whether drinking coffee is making me weaker? Has anyone else noticed this. I have to use spoons to get into the jars. I was 60 years old at the time. YIPPEE. Failing that, perhaps a letter or whatever to the company may be worth a try. Fun fact - The name of the founder was Egbert Douwes but it only became a (relatively) big brand once his son took over, conform national naming conventions his son was called Douwe Egberts - the s at the end indicating son of, similar to English/Swedish/Danish son.
