UK oil fields to close without tax breaks

Recommended Posts

It is ok. Relax everybody. BP made £4bn profit last year.

Save your tears for more deserving causes.

Perhaps tears for thousands of people will be out of work because of a huge change in the global market over the last few years, and like most people don't realise the seriousness until it affects them?

Figures wise: One of the world's biggest companies, and if we took 100% tax off this WORLD one, it would run the UK NHS for less that 2 weeks. Makes you think how quick things can change! Had that been last year it would have held the UK NHS for nearly 6 weeks

I wonder how long you'd last if you said your post face to face to the thousands who will lose their jobs?

BP made £ 4 000 000 000 profit last year.

And £12 000 000 000 the year before.

I imagine that they fixed the roof whilst the sun was shining.

Agreed. Yes you would think they had set a bit aside over the years. I shed no tears for the likes of BP and as for Shell they couldn't even be bothered to pay any corporation tax.
