Just had a look on Google Maps, and Barrow Road seems to have double yellow lines (no parking)

 

So what are the road names that people are suggesting we can park on, that are a few minutes walk away from the Meadowhall station?

 

There is Newman road /Vauxhall road and there is Roman ridge industrial estate all free to park on

I use to park at Meadowhall in the car park near Markes & Spencers at least once a week, then catch the train to Leeds for the day, never had any problems. However this is over 2 years ago not sure if things have changed.

Newman Road and Vauxhall Road. These are off Barrow Road and can be parked on.

Meadowhall opens at 9am Monday to Saturday and 11am on Sunday.

 

The park and ride car park is the best place for what you want. Should easily find a space before 8am.

I parked at Meadowhall the other day, and caught the tram into town. I was gone probably 4 hours, I did walk all the way through Meadowhall on the way to the tram though, so it'd be difficult to prove I didn't shop there

I have to catch a train from Meadowhall next week at around 8.00 in the morning, and I will be back around 6.00pm the same day. What would be the best place to park?

 

I have seen old threads where people have pointed to the free parking at Meadowhall, but the online link below states that the parking space is no longer active.

Plenty of free parking space behind Alltools premises on Staniforth Road Attercliffe , 50 yards down footpath to tram stop and then 5 minutes to Meadow Hall (check tram times).

Exactly what I was thinking! Even if they are monitoring using cameras to look for people who park and walk away, you could get around it by entering the shopping centre and walking out on another exit?

 

They absolutely do not.

The train station car park can get very busy but if you get there early enough it shouldn't be a problem, Meadowhall had a big clampdown a few years ago with drivers parking on hatched areas etc but not sure there is any time limit on the time you can spend in the car park, as above though you should be ok in the interchange one at that time in a morning.
