Brennanhough Posted February 9, 2016 Share Posted February 9, 2016 Hi all! Long time lurker first time poster!! Thinking of popping the big question (gulp) and looking at Engagement rings... We are currently expecting a baby in May, so I'm on a "budget" as such, because we/I can't afford to go big on the ring. I do however want to try and get something unique and I want a Sheffield theme to it because that's where I am from!!! If possible I want it made from Sheffield Steel although I'm not well clued up on jewellery (I'm a watch only kind of guy!) so don't know if anything like that is possible? Anybody have any ideas where I can start looking? I've heard somewhere at kelham island do them, and seen a jewellers online called Tiagos (sp) but that looks really expensive. To use an old phrase I don't expect the moon on a stick, but I do want something nice which carries some sentiment for my money.. Thanks in advance guys!! When I got engaged, my fiancee had the same idea - so we asked at the jewellers and they said you it is possible, but steel isn't very practical because it's a much harder metal than gold, which makes it very difficult to alter or repair.
