Sheridan1-0
and to think Warnock had accepted the Wednesday job when MM offered it him, only for the fans reaction make Manderic realise it wouldnt work...
web1
Warnock plays the style of football that Leicester are playing now, that Palace play now,and that Watford play now..........direct,not long ball, and with a physical element to it..........tippy tappy went out a while back, even Barcelona realised that............Man Utd still haven't. Not often I disagree with anyone but comparing Warnocks style to that of the current Leicester side, really. Watford and palace and Leicester all have very good footballers throughout the team, and I wouldn't call Vardy a physical player would you? Troy deeney for Watford might be called this but he is still a great footballer. Red tinted specs methinks Chalga with a touch of reminiscent envy. ---------- Post added 12-02-2016 at 11:15 ---------- As for the Adam Johnson comments guys... Don't lower yourselves. stpetre
Bonus for Wednesday fans though. We've already had Big Steve Evans to "welcome" to Hillsborough. Now we get Colin as well. How did he get the name 'Colin' ? seems to be a nationwide thing.

No idea what reminiscent envy you mean,or who of for that matter. Playing a certain style and the quality of the footballers in the team playing it are 2 different things, and Leicester,Watford and Palace all play the way that Warnock wants to play........with the quality of players he has at his dispoasal compared to theirs. In fact, the way those teams play are just Wimbledon of the 80'ies brought up to date and refined, with better quality players............high tempo, get the ball forward as quick as possible and shut the opposition down high up the pitch. When Wimbledon used to stop their opponents playing, the media hated it because skilled players were shut down and there was no spectacle,it's called pressing now,or gegenpressing...........but because Klopp or Ranieri does it,the media loves them, that's partly because their teams have been able to afford quality players to play the Warnock style more effectively.Bassett and Warnock could not attract or afford enough of them. All the 3 teams have physical players,Vardy runs the channels on to ,ahem, long passes.........he would fit right into the old Wimbledon team and would have scored loads of goals for them.Deeney wins a lot of high balls for Ighalo to feed off, although he is not doing so much of that now,so Watford are finding it hard to score.Palace are like Land Of The Giants, and they just added Adebayor, they don't tip tap around midfield Arsenal style............and in fact they all play in the same way that Wednesday played under Jack Charlton/Wilkinson...........what did the media label their style as? chalga
http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/jan-vertonghen-tottenham-must-improve-against-long-ball-teams-like-leicester-city-a3156611.html There ya go.............Now who's he talking about,Leicester or Wimbledon? Tottenham’s Jan Vertonghen has hit out at Leicester’s ‘route-one’ tactics ahead of a fourth meeting between the sides this season. He said: “They always approach the game in the same way — kick every ball they get long and run, and if they don’t have the ball they defend. “They drop deep and then they count on set-pieces or one of their strikers. They have won most of their games like this and they play their game very well. It works for them. Every player knows his qualities and that is a very important thing Edited February 12, 2016 by chalga
top4718
That is just so far wrong it's untrue. I agree I well remember Wimbledons style of play and it was nothing like anybody plays these days. ---------- Post added 12-02-2016 at 15:31 ---------- Someone already did lower themselves and it was in really bad taste web1.
