ASDA removes food bank donation / pet rescue points from stores

Recommended Posts

End of the day supermarkets arn't charities. Surely some of the charity shops could accept the donations.

Supermarkets should be forced to be more responsible with their products and wastage though. I think very strict regulations should be forced upon all supermarkets. They should be forced to find a suitable use for everything that they don't sell.

I don't shop at Asda often, but if I wish to contribute a little to a foodbank, then I'll simply choose another supermarket. I've been shopping more and more at Sainsbury's anyway (along with Aldi) and they have a foodbank donation point.

I'm quite disgusted that anyone would steal a trolley of food that has been donated for people who are genuinely in need.

I agree with that. Shops and supermarkets have always thrown tons of food away.
