I understand a new member of staff has been recruited to help with the beer week at Shakespeares. She just popped in last Sunday and choose to hang around and has been hired. Efficient and polite, although a tad taciturn, she will be much missed should she return to her job at Mattel.

I'm sure she will be a great addition to the staff there as long as certain others don't draw on her too much!!

Iain Kenny set up North Union in Sheffield in 2015; leaving the head brewer position at Kelham Island Brewery, to set up his new brewery. A considered, balanced range of beers has been released and even the odd collaboration thrown in for good measure. Head down to the Wig & Pen, a contemporary beer and food led pub to hear more about this new brewery.

 

Thornbridge Meet The Brewer & #First Pour of new Irish Stout

Meet the Brewer & Tap Takeover with Chantry Brewery

 

Venue: Railway Hotel, 184 Bramall Lane. S2 4RF

An opportunity to share a pint and a chat with the guys from Chantry Brewery in Rotherham. There’ll be examples of their pales, bitters, stouts and porters on tap.

Meet the Brewers with Exit 33 & Emmanuales

A double meet the brewer event with Sheffield brewers at The Harlequin in Kelham Island. Join Exit 33 Brewing in their tap pub alongside new ‘nano’ brewery Emmanuales. Wow! Lots going on today. The event at Shakies is sold out apparently.

 

It was quite busy around town last night. Bath was buzzing. Even Hop was busy. And Anchorage all but sold out of tap beer at once point.

I'll have to make sure I'm in early! I suppose I can ask to leave work for an "important appointment" that cannot be rearranged.
