spilldig
One problem I had last year is that I take tablets to keep my blood pressure ok. Naturally I looked at companies that state they cover all medical conditions. Fair enough, except it turns out that they will insure you but with strings, i'e, they won't cover heart problems because of high blood pressure. But I don't have high blood pressure, that's what the pills are for? Doesn't matter we won't insure you for that. So my question is does anyone know of any insurance company who says they cover all medical conditions that actually does ?
Cyclone
They generally won't cover existing conditions. ---------- Post added 19-10-2016 at 11:30 ---------- At least that what's supposed to happen. Presumably once we leave the EU this will no longer apply, so increased travel insurance costs just one more consequence.

I have high BP and cholesterol, controlled with medication and have had no problems with holiday insurance.

The thing is Cyclone they state in their adverts that they do. I was also going to post about an incident a neighbour of ours had with the EHIC. He went into hospital in France after an accident and they didn't want his card because he had separate travel insurance. After treatment the insurance company won't pay up because they say it should be covered by the EHIC but because the hospital didn't use the EHIC in the first place the squabbling still goes on. He says, understandingly, that he wishes he hadn't bothered with separate travel insurance. We go on cruises and they require separate holiday insurance but they only ask for the policy number not any detail. ---------- Post added 19-10-2016 at 11:54 ---------- Many do but it costs. Cyclone
Not having travel insurance would be a mistake IMO, the EHIC is good, but it has limits.

We usually go on P&O cruises now and you wouldn't be allowed to board without personal insurance.
