'Sheffield buses 'are now on time' - Sheffield Star fiction

Recommended Posts

My experience is buses are now generally on time - when they aren't battling against traffic congestion, badly parked cars, obstructed bus lanes, unenforced bus gates, roads blocked by bin lorries etc - all of which are the council's responsibility.

I have seen buses being late more because they are fuller and it often takes twice as long to get passengers in.

The drivers have to work much harder and I have seen one go the wrong way on the route and another one forget to stop when someone had pressed stop request.

It looked more like this happened due to work stress on the drivers, I don't blame them for this happening it is not their fault all the pressure is thrown at them to make more and more profits.

My observations.

86 runs much more on time than before and is usually live on next bus.

The 85 is hit and miss and often empty!

The roads are much quieter in the day so you would expect more to run on time

There still seems major "bunching" in the day this week the 86,76,75 and 98 which all run along London rd and Abbeydale rd were struggling to pick up passengers at the same stop on High Street.
