Changing to a cheaper tarriff with British Gas.

I've been on the Price Protection tariff with British Gas but when gas prices came down I was paying more on PP tariff than the standard tariff. I had a letter from BG telling me that I can change to their cheapest tariff ,which is cheaper than their standard one. !! I've done this, and they even informed me that I can change to another supplier if I want to. BG have been obliged to do this and so they should !

I'm not changing supplier but wondered which company was the cheapest overall ?

WE have changed to OVO from eon, we had been with eon from 1982 then they gave a quote for £10 less than the year before, we did not realise they were tacking £30 month out of our credit to make it up, on switching to OVO we are£238 a year better off.

Never heard of OVO but will look them up !

Thanks for this nudge in the right direction. Our bills are getting ridiculously high - hubby needs the heating on more than most people. Have just checked and to move from Eon to Scottish Power its predicted I'd save over £500 per year!!! A lot of money! I've put off doing this for far too long - always a bit nervous of pressing the button to start it off. But here we go!!
