blake
hes just a right wing reactionary gob****e Trump is not right wing at all. That is why so many actual conservatives - including the two living former Republican presidents - who have voted Republican habitually in election after election for years and years, have said that they are not going to vote Republican with Trump on the ticket this time. Zamo
Indeed - and the likes of Zamo, who so readily leaps to the defense of the utterly repellent, racist, mysogynistic, bullying oaf that is Trump while at the same time actively promoting ill-will against his fellow British Muslims. Had Zamo been around in the 1930's you can bet he'd be merrily spreading ill will against another well known group of people. Loathsome behaviour. I have neither condemned or condoned Trump. What I've said is that his policy for dealing with Islamic extremism (division) is inevitable and that more and more people will support such action, and worse, the longer the extremism goes on and the more it escalates. We can see this reaction happening across Europe too with far right and nationalist groups surging. The extremism of Islam is generating a counter extremism and division is growing. Shooting the messenger won't make it go away Halibut. Pointing out that Islam has a problem with extremism is not spreading ill will it is spreading the truth... not that it needs spreading because everyone already knows it. And it isn't only when the extremism spills over into terrorism that it is a problem. It is a problem long before that because it puts intolerant and discriminatory ideas in the heads of people that are at odds with Western society principles and values. Take a look at what Muslims think, Halibut, and tell me why you aren't challenging these view? Why aren't you challenge a religion that makes people think like that? If we were in the 1930's I'd be speaking out against the intolerance of the Nazis, whilst you'd be saying 'not all Germans think like, that, it's xenophobic to generalise!'. Pathetic. Harrystottle
One reason Trump is getting support from some of the public because he is not one of the bought and sold political class; and he is being attacked relentlessly by the media and the aforesaid political class for the same reason. If anyone from outside what the political classes consider to be acceptable starts to get popular, they will be attacked. It doesn't matter if they from the left or the right - if you don't hold "appropriate" views you are going to be for it. So people like Trump and Farage get abuse. If someone like Melanchon in France started getting popular, he'd get abuse too.
Zamo
The former Head of MI6 has now gone on record as saying the current mass immigration from the Muslim world threatens a 'populist uprising'. When are we going to stop ignoring history, burying out heads in the sand and hoping it will all turn out all right? Muslims living in the West need to find a way to tone down their religious and cultural practices and beliefs or Trump's policy will start to seem friendly. I though his comment about allowing visa free travel from Turkey as way to control the flow of migrants was a good one, describing the move as like storing gasoline near a fire. Jukes
I applaud Trump for not not invoking gods in his campaign. He could be the openly atheist president that gives the USA confidence to put aside its childish ideas. Jukes x
