*_ash_*
Local news (either Calender or Look North, not sure which.) about empty houses and the homeless. Some report has just been published with the figures and they did a feature on it. Was it also about the other 3 on the list? 4 all in one? There are 10 empty homes for every homeless person. There's enough food in the world for everyone but people starve. There are cures for lots of illnesses but people can't afford them. The world is awash with money but poverty still blights millions of lives.
Waldo
Where did we go wrong? And more to the point, how do we put it right? Too many people in the world? Stop having so many babies?

(Easily verified if you just look.) And the whole presents a pattern emerging don't you think?
Quik
Too many people in the world? Stop having so many babies? Spot on. The third world breed like rats then expect us to magic a nice life for them. Enough. If they want to go off like that then we must as a matter of survival let them starve when they cheerfully massively overbreed.

All my grandparents had at least 5 other siblings. No doubt that certain countries need dramatically better family planning education though. The thing I don't understand is that humans are claimed to be higher in the pecking order than every other species on earth, it is claimed that humans are the most intelligent species on earth, makes one wonder why so many can't even manage to feed themselves whilst all the lower life forms can. blake
60 years ago so did Brits. All my grandparents had at least 5 other siblings. No doubt that certain countries need dramatically better family planning education though. your grandparents are not representative of the average. 60 years ago, by the mid 1950s in Britain, the TFR or number of children per woman had already gone down to about 2.2 (today it is 1.9). It had halved in the previous 50 years. In 1900, the average UK woman gave birth to 4.5 children. People were already commenting on how much the average family size had reduced in living memory, in the 1950s.
foxy lady
The world is awash with money but poverty still blights millions of lives. Where did we go wrong? And more to the point, how do we put it right? As you are undoubtably in the top 10-20% on the world's rich list, you could sell most of your posessions and give away the majority of your wealth to those lower down the scale. danot
There's no money in cure, only medicine. Economic growth and personal wealth is the primary concern for those who ease an aching conscience by making a token donation rather than make a discernible difference. Have a read at this leaflet Anna , I used to feel the same the world is unjust and corrupt and men simply cannot rule themselves. https://www.jw.org/en/publications/books/control-world-tract/who-controls-the-world/ Edited March 9, 2016 by kingdom
