whiteowl
I think the difficulty is that people mature at differing rates. There are some 10 year olds that are perfectly capable of looking after themselves, and there are some 18 year olds I wouldn't trust with anything sharper than a spoon. Powerage
I think it depends on each child I used to be left at home all day during the school holidays to look after my younger sister from about the age of 11 and many of my school friends were left at that age as well. Not surprisingly we all survived into adult hood! Edited March 17, 2016 by Powerage

sgtkate
I didn't think that I was being sarcastic - I genuinely feel sorry for them. I'm sure I'll go to hell if I'm wrong, but there were just too many things that were odd or totally inconsistent in their original story, stories given to the press, stories given by the other friends at the dinner and so on to truly believe there was not a lot more to this than a simple child abduction. As I say, if I'm wrong then I will actually send the McCann's a personal apology (not that it'll mean much). So as things stand no, they don't have my sympathy at all as I genuinely believe they had a hand in their own daughters disappearance and death.
