Iain Duncan Smith resigns from Cabinet

Recommended Posts

Bet theres much more to this.

Surely he knew about this before.

Suspect its more about his own political ambitions.

On the news it says the PM would have sacked him because of his opposition on the EU and the publicity on wanting to read those EU papers.

This wouldn't have happened if the EU vote wasnt taking place this year.

IDS was in cabinet and knew what was happening re. these cuts.

IDS has suddenly found a conscience after years of making cuts including:

The spare room subsidy

Cuts resulting in an increase in the number if people committing suicide

Making the unemployed work for 30 hours for nothing for big corporations

Allowing a high premium number for people enquiringly about Universal credits

In additional he has wasted hundreds of millions trying to find the right computer to get Universal credits benefits linked, (which he still hasn't managed to achieve nationwide). The government would have saved more money if they had sacked him earlier.

IDS Waste, Waste, Waste, hundreds of millions.

Suicides due to welfare cuts

No, he's thrown his toys out of the pram to get back at Osborne by destroying his chances of becoming PM

I hear a lot of talk on here of him 'aspiring' to be PM..and political manoeuvring to make himself eligible to be PM.

Don't people remember?...He's already had a crack at that and failed miserably. So that can't be the reason.

Maybe he's been forced to be 'scapegoat Billy' for all these years?....Maybe, just maybe he doesn't want to be the most hated bloke in politics any more?

IDS has said its not the cuts on their own that have caused him to resign; but cuts to the poor, whilst at the same time giving tax cuts for wealthier people.

It could also be that he has now given George Osborne a hard time, so Ossie will not become PM.

That we should all be grateful for ;)

Doubtful in my opinion. Don't think Cameron would want another Eurosceptic in the cabinet. If Jeremy Hunt moved over though lol.

It's turned out to be the welsh secratary. Don't know anything about him tbh except he looks a bit like David Brent off the Office.

The quiet man is turning up the volume :)
