Pub crawls into Derbyshire by Sheffielders

Recommended Posts

Remember the Norfolk Arms Ringinglow aka The Roundhouse, they had a back room for music, jazz bands and the like also recall a pub out at Wentworth with music in a room round the back.

Rockingham Arms at Wentworth had a lot of folk acts until recently. Think they now concentrate on food.

Norfolk Arms had that big function room at the back. Been to discos there and can vaguely remember jazz being advertised.

Mentioned by Slotter , not quite Derbyshire was the Norfolk Arms, Ringinlow, where on a Sunday night 72/74 there was a great Trad Jazz band. My mate at the time Tony Curzon and I would drive up there on Sunday night in his new Pontiac Transam bought from Cambridge Motor Co. and see this band... brilliant.

Tony also booked this band on Sunday afternoons after drinks at pub at Townhead, for an afternoon session at his house which was brilliant.

Then we would all drive home. We couldnt get away with this today.
