sgtkate
Hope they allow access for us that have to go into work Of course they will. Just drive up tooting your horn and gesticulating at the course marshals and they shall bow and wave you through.
denlin
For crying out loud it's a charity event. You know it's happening well in advance. Make alternative arrangements instead of waiting till the day and then moaning on here

LeMaquis
Agreed. If the organisers can't find a suitable off road venue then it should be cancelled or held elsewhere. Quite right. I think they should abolish not just all road races in the world but also all sports events. The London Marathon doesn't just prevent a trip to Tesco's but it's also impossible to get across London when the cup final or Lord's test is on. France cannot be navigated when the Tour is on and this year it will be worse with the Euros taking place there. Have you tried strolling round Monte Carlo when the Grand Prix is taking place? The round the world yacht race has made it impossible to get to the shops via the Atlantic or Pacific. And the Paris-Dakar rally means that all transport across the Sahara by camel is a non-starter. The only sport allowed anywhere in the world should be people whinging on the internet about those who enjoy life a bit.

I used to enjoy the Paris Dakar rally till the organisers bowed down to terrorism and wound it up.

hyper
they should be run in parks not on main roads ,what about the emergency services , and doctors care nurses visiting elderly how do they go on, glad its not here next yearyou sound like Tommo who was overly concerned at the number of people who would die during the Tour de France visit because of road closures. In the end ...... nobody died ---------- Post added 29-03-2016 at 17:27 ---------- Its a pity we dont have a big enough stadium where they could complete circuits equalling the total miles for the half marathon. No danger to runners, no problems for emergency services and no road closures.I always thought thousands entered these events. It would be interesting to see how they fit on a 400metre track and for the runners and marshals to know how many laps everyone had done. ---------- Post added 29-03-2016 at 17:29 ---------- Quite right.
