There is plenty of cheap labour in the EU so making and buying our steel from EU countries such as Romania would make more sense than buying it from China. I thought that was the point of the internal market we buy and sell everything we need within that market.

 

But then the EU want to sell goods to the emerging markets around the world.

And more competitive prices would make that easier, surely producing steel in Romania would be cheaper than producing it in the UK, and if its cheaper it would be easier to sell worldwide and better for our internal market.

But they have tight budgets so they will very likely continue to buy the cheapest.

Thats fine until you consider the financial pressure that the councils and the NHS are under. I also think that the NHS should buy the best equipment that it can afford irrespective of where it comes from.

Next week the tories will be telling the councils and the NHS that it must tighten it's spending and cut their costs as much as possible.
