Quik
I understand that. Which is why I referred to an expectation for us to know the basics in my previous post. When it comes to investments its standard practice for investors to make a declaration to the effect that they know what they are doing, which removes the ignorance defence. That might be to protect the company from a client who has chose not to take their advice when purchasing an investment from them (and it loses money). That's not the reason for such a declaration and it's not the investor that's liable if they have no knowledge anyway - it's the fund manager that gets in bother. I know thats not the reason for the expert investor declaration however it will hardly help a defence of ignorance. In the case of dc when daddy is in the hotseat a defence of ignorance is even less credible.
spilldig
Oh dear. It really is one crisis after another at the moment. Just when we all thought Labour were safely out of power for a generation, the Tories decide to press the self destruct button. From budget U turns, to EU in-fighting, from Australian jollies during industrial collapse, to dodgy finances (how it's perceived, not actually is). The only positive is it's still over 4 years until the next election. Don,t worry, it won't be long before Corbyn puts his foot in it again. the_bloke
Bloody hell, that Lansmann is a right hypocrite! Good old Tom Watson too; he's been giving his opinion on tax avoidance and how Cameron must come clean on how he has benefited from it, yet Watson himself has accepted £40k in donations during his running for Labour Deputy leader from infamous tax dodger Max Mosley. It's a horrible tangled mess. Somebody quite right said on the radio news tonight that Labour need to tone things down a bit. They have many, many skeletons in the closet too. It all just looks so corrupt. This really isn't about which party is worst now. It's about cleaning things up in politics.
