Ah but if you fail to include on your tax form your pensions and your savings that are taxed at source, it is very likely that the taxman who taxed them at source will forget that you are a high rate tax payer. I made an assumption that it was state pension which can be looked up inter-departmentally. I should have considered it may have been a private pension.
