Should USA be seriously concerned about N Korea now?

Recommended Posts

The N Korean embasy officials got short shrift when they they tried to stop investigations in to the cause of death of Kim Jong Un's estranged half-brother.

They were there at the hospital for so long they went for a KFC, and thats actually reported lol.

To us in the west, KFC meal is something we would turn our nose up at.

To the benighted people of countries like North Korea it would be a feast.

This would be best way to destabilise these countries.

Not by punitive sanctions, but by the reverse.

Feeding them and showering them with good things to show them the benefits of our way of life.

Of course we would have to bomb the living crap out of them first, just to keep the right wing happy.

According to the "eggspurt" interviewed on the wireless on all things N Korean, his theory was that N Korea would never nuke the USA for one simple reason. N Korea would not exist after the States had vaporised it in retaliation.

Seems logical to me, especially with the Donald in charge.

That whole argument depends on one person in charge not being a nutter, or a religious zealot. If you truly believe that heaven awaits, with either 100 virgins or a conference of Marxist Leninist supporters then you'll press the button no matter if you'll be obliterated in the process.

MAD only works between rational countries. Give a nuke to a religious zealot, who really truly believes, and isn't just paying lip service, then we have a problem.

Which is why global non-proliferation is the way forward and for those countries who already have the capacity to explode the planet 100 times over to cut down their stocks...the more nuclear warheads that exist...the greater the chance a "believer" will get one.

N Korea are unpredictable that is what makes them dangerous. Its a bit late if we wiped them out after they launched a nuclear strike. They destabilise the region. As taxman pointed out MAD doesnt work with them, especially as so many of the people are brainwashed into believing the paranooa put out.

What do you suggest the US to do in terms of action?

Invade?

Bomb?

Nuclear strike?

None of the above.

Maybe put pressure on China to try and get N.Korea to see sense. That could be as simple as restricting aid to a failing N.Korean economy. If it does all go haywire then China loses out big-time so its in their interests to nip any potential conflict in the bud.

This is the relevant aspect that posters on here are not grasping. It would only take someone like Trump to upset Kim jong un with one of his infamous phone calls like he did with the Australian PM, and he would be fuming so much that he’d be reaching for the button.

He ordered the execution of a person for nodding off during one of his boring speeches. The psychopath would have been locked up as in an asylum years ago if he lived in the West just for walking in the street, never mind being in a position of authority.
