Lurgh Mor
Hi. I'm looking for a venue that may be interested in holding a "Fortified Drinks" tasting and celebration. The theme would be both the history and traditions of fortified drinks in the UK and what the future holds for this particular drinks sector. I would highlight the influence of certain quality brands - Lanliq, 4 Crown, Eldorado, Buckfast and Emva Cream - on the Scottish subculture ( Scotsmac will be the subject of another event)and compare that to the influence of the larger sherry and port shippers in England. Would the good people of Glasgow and Greenock have taken a 1963 Quinta de Noval or a special bottling of Heredad de Hildago? That we can discuss. Why do the residents of Devon eschew the aforementioned Buckfast when the cognoscenti of Coatbridge, Airdrie and Wishaw can't seem to get enough, obviously keen to experience its health benefits? I look forward to any replies.

Lurgh Mor
I'm sure I am able to source some cans from an old "Licensed Grocer" friend in Auchinleck. Positive he has some left following the Jubilee celebrations. Always thought it benefited from a period of conditioning.
