Gamston
A container can easily be cladded with wood and windows installed to give the appearance of a nice log cabin. With a little bit of thought and good siting, it will not be an eyesore to anyone.
Eater Sundae
Temperature control and condensation can be particular problems with containers.
Cyclone
I have a summer house which I use as a gym, I insulated it and boarded over the interior and reinforced the floor. It's not warm at first, but it warms up fairly well with body heat if you're exercising, so I guess a small heater would work just as well. From the outside it looks fairly pleasant, there's no damp that I've noticed inside, nor found any insects.
