Michael_W
Bitter hateful socialists, militant trade unionists, deluded students and left wing activists do not represent the majority of people in this country. That is why those demonstrations get so little media attention ...... IMHO

Dubaidani13
50,000 people took part in an anti-austerity march in Central London yesterday. Not a peep about it on the mainstream News or in the papers, even though social media is full of it. The media is now so biased it's not worth watching. The only way to find out what's really going on in the world, let alone your own back yard, is on the internet. Doesn't the mainstream media have a duty to keep us informed? 50,000??? really the left wing propaganda wagon is in full swing today then:rolleyes: its all a conspiricy nothing on the mainstream news!! shock horror....thats prob because there were only a few hundred maybe 1000 pictured to look like more, SWP convention? ---------- Post added 17-04-2016 at 17:01 ---------- 3500 or 50000 fools who think we shouldn't reduce the deficit and should live on borrowing money. thats socialists for you though Ron, spending other peoples money or rather borrowing it and thinking there is a never ending money tree at the end of the garden lo:hihi: Edited April 17, 2016 by Dubaidani13

That is why those demonstrations get so little media attention ...... IMHO I don't know. This chap ran a union branch that had 6 members. He seems to have done OK out of it all and attracted media attention. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-36046675 He's now Labour's spokesman on union affairs. Perhaps we can expect a statement from him on his own union affairs. Edited April 17, 2016 by foxy lady
I1L2T3
3500 or 50000 fools who think we shouldn't reduce the deficit and should live on borrowing money. That is pretty much what OsTerity gives us. Deficit reduction targets continuously missed and borrowing like it's going out of fashion.

I live in London half the time anna and these people are out virtually every weekend 'protesting' about something or other. Trident, Israel, austeriry, gravity, you name it the usual suspects will turn out and wave placards about it while adding half an hour to journey times through town. They get far more media coverage than they deserve to be given.
Fogey
The rich pay tax just like the rest of the population. They pay what the HMRC says they are legally obliged to pay. I don't think the rich do pay tax like everyone else though do they? They use different methods and it is being suggested that many of these methods are not in the spirit of the tax collection basis promised by this government particularly and possibly for which they were voted in to power. We're not just talking about rich individuals here though, companies are more likely to be where the big loss of tax revenues occur (I would imagine). Some of these methods are even suspected of being illegal. Of course the electorate is entitled to voice its opinion and make clear the desire that they would prefer a different approach to be taken, perhaps requiring a change in the law or tax system. Of course if all those protesters were rich enough they could make a substantial contribution to the Conservative Party and bend the ears of those running the country but they don't have that kind of money with which to abuse the political system so protest and march it has to be. Of course you're really going to have to kick up a stink if you want these methods to be brought to light when the people in charge are promising to 'deal' with tax dodging while they and their families are benefitting from using just such a system. Perhaps it isn't as fair as the Government would like us all to believe it is. Maybe that is why the protests are happening, maybe.

Yes, when its something worth reporting , but the usual suspects, Unions, SWP ( all four of them) , Occupy and their hangers on and a few hundred far left anarchists shouting anti establishment abuse isnt exactly news worthy . These people are best ignored

Socialists march that's what they do, they're also big on using social media but that doesn't make them right or worth a mention.
