Another 3 Labour councillors suspended. It runs through the party like a stick of rock. No doubt they'll be apologising soon.

 

I don't believe the apologies, they're just trying to save their bacon.

Whilst I'm not a UKIP fan, it's fair to say in this case that when presented with evidence of his anti-semitism he apologised and resigned. What we are seeing with Labour is resistance to it, hence suspensions not resignations. Livingstone and one of those councillors suspended today are in total denial they are anti semitic, so are hardly going to resign.

Racism has always been endemic on both the extreme right and extreme left. This is why we heard Nick Griffin defending Ken Livingstone with the "Hitler was a Zionist" rubbish on Friday.

 

The only difference is that at the moment, the extreme left has temporarily taken over the mainstream left in the form of the Labour Party. The sooner this is rectified the better for politics as a whole, both left and right.

 

As somebody with no affiliation to any party, I just vote for the party I feel is least worse, I hope this is rectified soon since at the moment I may as well be voting for the Monster Raving Looney Party.

That's one interpretation.

Mine would be that racism has always been endemic on both the extreme left and the extreme left. Once you look at the BNP properly it's hard not to see them as a bunch of bigoted socialists.

His remarks were small beer in comparison. The matter was dealt with and he apologised.

You can say the same thing about Vicki Kirby, now suspended twice by Labour for anti semitism. She was brought back in after the first incident, so Labour were obviously happy with her views too.

 

I guess that means two parties with anti semitic members; UKIP and Labour, both of them we've come to expect really when a proportion of their membership seem to hold opponents of Israel and Jewish people in such high regard :/

It's not irrelevant. You're a UKIP member and yet you're happy to be in the same party as French. There are racists, certainly anti-semites, in Labour but you're only prepared to condemn Labour. UKIP is however racist enough for Nick Griffin, a holocaust-denier;

Judging by the number of bigots on here who are prepared to distort history in order to defend those who have been suspended, it is anti-semitic policy that probably suits their core vote.
