Dr Death (8 part TV series)

The pet hate of mine where the changing of film sequences change from the present to the past

back to the present,  back to sometime in between before returning to the present making the

whole thing  not so much hard to follow but bloody annoying was totally catered to.

Although based on the true story of Dr Christopher Duntsch, could anyone really capture the sheer

horror and impact any of the victims and their family's went through be captured on film.

The answer is NO.

While the series is successful in how the malpractice of Dr Duntsch was eventually brought to light

and the following court trial (probably the best part ) there is more empathy / emphasis on the doctors

(Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater) investigating Dr Duntsch than the Victims plight.

& binge responsibly

Blackpool - revisited   (BBC TV series 2004)

Full of actors on their way up, down or bordering on retirement.

David Morrissey the  owner of  a casino wanting to expand the business to match anything

in Las Vegas.

Murder, financial in-appropriation & infidelity intermixed with the characters ability to break out into song

at any moment makes this 6 part piece of rubbish worth watching,

Excellent cast and filming.

There is a  sequel Viva Blackpool which I suppose we will have watch .

One on Sky on the 'catch up' section: 'Manifest'.

Watched the first 11 episodes over the past three days. Very much in the same vein as 'Glitch' or 'Lost'. A little convoluted, but the viewer's not rushed. Who is not really dead? Who is the villainous Major? Are they all dead? Are they all in a snow-globe? (one for the seasoned tv-watcher there 😀 )

Both 'Lost' and  'Glitch'.........wait for it.......lost (ha!) their way and petered out.  I'm hoping this doesn't follow the same old tropes. Been enthralling so far.

Production on Manifest held up because of a virus type thing going on.

last i heard their looking for a new company to take over further scheduling.

Fingers crossed, because the whole family have enjoyed Manifest so far.

Blacklist all 8 series.

Compulsive viewing.

Liked this better than Fringe.

Little sketchy on the last two series because of Filming restrictions.

No one is safe & the twist n' turns throughout keep you guessing right to the end.

I used to like The Blacklist.  James Spader is magnificent.  But it went completely bat **** crazy and lost the plot somewhere around season 3.  I hear the last episode of the last season was insane.

Quote

Is there an End ?

No - Series 9 has been filmed.

It hasn't been filmed yet.  Now that showrunner/creator Jon Bokenkamp and

Spoiler

Megan Boone

have left, they're likely still trying to work out what's next for the show.

ETA: Fringe was excellent, but that was another one that went off the rails.  The last season was terrible.  Person of Interest was another one - it didn't recover from the loss of the excellent Taraji P Henson, and Root was the most irritating character in the history of television.

Fringe benefits massively from being watched like a box set. The way Sky butchered it into about 3 season breaks on the last series was criminal.

The article I read saying Blacklist 9 was being filmed is no longer there.

Probably more than down to anticipation Cori V would have disappeared by now.

I'm still waiting for Mr Kaplan to come back, she could have easily carried the organisation on.

Fringe, although we watched them all and I know there's quite a few on here are avid fans,

I personally  just couldn't get on with it,

Too far fetched

Me and HTSBO have just watched all 3 series of Absentia.

Started off well, simmered down, picked itself up and (spoiler) ends with a none ending ready for a 4th series.

(i hope not - it's run it course let it be)

Suckers for punishment we've just watched the 10 part Dystopia (2018)

(well Mrs Rocker did - I fell asleep midway through at least two of them)

Set in the future where babies are no longer born because of a government  tracking system implant.

(don't tell Boris) portrayed as a life saving cure for cancer.

The quest is on to return to the past to stop those responsible for its implementation.

Nothing new here, constantly switches back Ground Hog day style leaving you with the old

'if  you went back in time would you kill Hitler & if you did would someone worse take over,' ya di ya.

definitely one to miss

Spiral

If you're a Line of Duty fan, then strongly suggest you watch this- not police corruption entirely, but a very good police series.

It is a  French series which was hugely successful when aired. Currently all 8 seasons available on BBC IPLAYER.

Just binged (the new) season 3 of 'Ghosts'.

OK I know its not rip-roaring'ly  funny  & you certainly won't find extraordinary special effects

but there is an innocence in the humor dating back to some of the Ealing comedy's or even a vague

nod in the direction of the Carry on films.

Good clean fun, No Rat a Tat Tat of Machine Guns but moments to laugh along with.

Mare of Easttown .

Not quite sure what to make of this.

Enjoyed it to a certain extent.

Story line tended to flatten out in places.

Lots of intrigue, infidelity, and misdirection that sort of hides the final twist.

Worth watching - Yes.

Over Hyped - Yes

Riveting - not exactly.
