Celebrating Sheffield’s cultures and communities through dance, crafts and food. Taste Moor will be a vibrant and fun day filled with free activities, workshops and demonstrations. Performances 11:30 Nycha Dance – Simone Thompson CONTEMPORARY / STREET Nycha dance: a community dance school offering dance classes from age 2+ in many styles including street and contemporary. this performance will be a demonstration of street, jazz and contemporary dance with a bit of a story to tell. 12:00 Zubaidah – Lynne Fletcher BELLYDANCE Zubaidah specialise in traditional, tribal and gothic fusion belly dancing and perform throughout the whole of South Yorkshire, surrounding areas and further afield. 12:30 Age Active – David Schofield LINE DANCING Age Active is a registered charity providing health and fitness activities for the over fifties in the South Yorkshire area. The activities include Keep Fit to Music, Zhumba, Tai Chi, Line Dancing, and Sequence Dancing. The performance will be Line Dancing, with audience participation. 1:00 Barbara Thornes FLAMENCO Barbara holds a degree in Flamenco Art & Classical Ballet from the Real University-College of Mariemma in Madrid. Lets bring the passion of Flamenco to Sheffield with soul and spirit. Ole! 1:30 – Son De America – Lizz Cedillo MEXICAN FOLK A group of enthusiastic people living in Sheffield who love dancing, music and sharing Latin American folk culture 2:00 – Romano Jilo – Basil Sage ROMANI DANCE ‘Romano Jilo’ is a Voluntary Community Romani Dance Group based in Sheffield. The dance group performers are children and young people from the Sheffield Roma Community. Dance style is Romani originating from India. 2:15 – Abi Prettyman SINGER An up and coming solo musician in Sheffield, performing original songs and unique covers. Her music pairs acoustic guitar with soft, clean vocals . 2:00 – Excel Dance – Rachel Martin STREET DANCE Excel Dance offers classes in streetdance. EXCEL is the most professional training facility in Sheffield, with something unique and exciting for everyone. 3:00 – Boomshanka – Cis Heaviside BELLYDANCE Colourful and energetic Sheffield based belly dance troupe 3:30 – SDK Crew – Nic Prent HIP HOP SDK (So Damn Kreative) is a dance school based in Dinnington that specialises in original Street Dance styles and HipHop Craft Tents Indian Elephant Puppets Tile Painting inspired by indian patterns Junk Jewellery made from recycled materials Carnival mask making with Sheffield Carnival volunteers Create a large-scale colourful, mixed media collage in a joint community art piece to celebrate the many beautiful cultures and ethnicities of the people of Sheffield. Stalls and Information RSPB Visit ‘Giving Nature a Home’ stand and discover lots of ideas for DIY homes for nature in your own back garden. You will also be able to make your own bird feeder to take home FOOD CYCLE: FoodCycle – a national charity that combines volunteers, surplus food and spare kitchen spaces to create tasty, nutritious, vegetarian meals for people at risk of food poverty and social isolation: places of welcome and nourishment. In Sheffield we have been cooking for 2 years now and are adding new locations all the time, starting in Langsett and Firth Park, then on to Tinsley, Darnall, Greenhill and the City Centre. Both volunteers and guests come a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
