Are Northern folk generally thick?

Recommended Posts

I used to think we sounded a bit stupid sometimes on tv until all these Essex programmes started!

We was,salty potato,oh.....my.......god! Etc etc.

Made me feel much better.

'We was' isn't specific to a region, it's just bad grammar, like 'I were', and 'was you?'. I agree they sound thick though. ?

I have friends in Hartlepool who consider us thick for even thinking we Sheffielders are "northern" folk.

That's rich coming from Hartlepool considering the history of the monkey hangers !:)

i think the further you go the thicker they are? mind you that can go for east as well look at Essex.

Agreed.

The Essex accent suggests more issues with a lower IQ than that of the North imo.

Of course northerners are thick, why do you think southerners constantly take the p**s out of them?

Envy ? .

Ime thick about things i dont know anything about, but i am clever with the things i do know about.

Londoners (in particular) can rabbit on for hours, and not tell you anything. There clever at that.
