Tories in trouble over election fraud

Recommended Posts

I wonder what the outcome of this will be. and if any of these Tory MP's will be going to prison for fraud, they claim it was just an oversight by breaking the electoral spending rules

Maybe if they are convicted they could get a job helping Corbyn?

Marsha-Jane Thompson who was on Corbyn’s campaign team and is the national leader of Momentum, a Corbyn supporters’ group, has been convicted for election fraud.

There are some headlines that say that. But if u search for members of Corbyns campaign team, she is not there.

There are plenty of threads about Corbyn, this one is about the Tories fiddling, you accept that?

My point is that no political party can claim the high moral ground when it comes to electoral fraud. They've all got members that go too far and make bad decisions, for one reason or an other, in an effort to help their cause.

I'm not saying the Tories are clean and Labour is dirty or vice versa.

This election bus that was not declared goes right to the top. Didnt it get signed off by Grant Shapps, that paragon of virtue that had pen names Michael Green and Sebastian Fox to hide his wrong doings, and edited his own wikipedia page, and more.

Shapps should have been sacked years ago.

There are numerous investigations on campaign funding especially post-general election, this is not news.

It's interesting that this is big news in the Independant which has moved more and more into the Anti-Tory camp over the years. I used to read the Independent but stopped some time ago. What is telling is they have lost so many customers they have ended their print production and rely on a handful of journalists for their online edition. Have they polorised their political persuasion by cutting their number of journalists?

Until there are charges or evidence passed to the police, this is a non-story.

I notice that you spend most of your post demonizing The Independant

Has it not occured to you that Tory owned papers may not be too keen to write a piece about it, after all it does not serve their interest..

But here you go, take your pick

Im not demonising anyone and I think you are going a bit over the top there.

The Independent was by its very creation meant to be a completely independent newspaper offering a none political bias. I for one was a reader of the paper but noticed how they seemed to hold the Torys to account much more than Labour and the Lib Dems in recent years. This seems to coincide with with their downward spiral and eventual ending of their print editions. I suspect, their reduction in journalistic input has condensed their already political leanings which has inturn sped up their demise.

And there you go again, spending all your time discussing The Independant, and not the subject at hand, it is irrelevant that i chose a link from that paper. there are many others showing the same story, The Independant was just one picked at random

Could this have anything to do with the fact that it's the Tories and Lib Dems who have been, or were, in power in recent years?

The same thing has happened on "Have I got News for You" with Ian Hislop having been very critical of Labour during their stint in power he has, since 2010, swung his spotlight on to the Tories and, briefly, the Lib Dems.
