AFCUnity
AFC Unity is an indie women's football club based in Sheffield, focused on bringing the game back to its grass-roots as a uniting force, bringing people together for the love of the game beyond vested interests and the influence of profit. AFC Unity focuses on women, as they have been historically excluded, and aims to produce and promote positive role models. We have just launched our Solidarity Soccer programme for women. In sum, the programme is focused on non-competitive training as our competitive options are expanding in the club (we have just announced the formation of a second 11-a-side team!), so we want to focus these sessions on engaging women who are new to the sport, want to give the sport a try, or who are wanting to build back confidence, skills, fitness etc., exploring key concepts in football and also connecting it to digital technology and wider life goals that we may have. Our Solidarity Soccer sessions take place at Hillsborough College on Monday evenings and Concord Sports Centre on Tuesday evenings. They cost £2.00 a session and take place on 3G surface. We have more information about the programme here: https://afcunity.org/2016/05/05/introducing-our-solidarity-soccer-programme/ Please get in touch for more information and/or to get involved!
