UKIP MEP appeals to EU parliament to save her from British justice

Recommended Posts

The EU parliament have ruled that this woman does not have immunity from British justice due to being an MEP.

UKIP MEP to face prosecution over Rotherham remarks.

As expected.

<...> Having looked into the May 16 Judgement and the EU Parliamentary Rules, I'm quietly confident she's going to be turned on her ear, in this case allowing sovereign UK libel laws to prevail over communal EU Parliamentary Privilege. Double result for the EU here, methinks
Pity she (likely-) won't be done for abuse of procedure on top :(

Shame really just looked, listened to her speech, she seem to be saying what most people were thinking.

what I want to know is . . . Why didn't she mention former Rotherham Labour MP Denis "jailbird" MacShane in this great speech of hers?

Now he's someone that all sides of the political divide would like to see thrown in jail . . . again

This is exactly why she should be made an example of (and was.)

People believe those in power and will accept it as truth when there is no evidence of it. That is how we end up with such a skewed worldview in society at the moment.

One paragraph particularly leapt out at me:

In her defence, Collins argued that it was a political speech, which did not contain any allegation of fact, but merely expressed an opinion.

Remember that, people. A UKIP speech should not be assumed to contain any facts, only opinions.

"A UKIP MEP could face bankruptcy after she failed to pay damages to three MPs over remarks she made about the Rotherham child abuse scandal.

"Jane Collins was told to pay £358,000 in damages and costs in February after being sued for libel and slander.

"But, she appeared in court in Hull earlier on Monday after failing to pay.

"A spokeswoman for Ms Collins said after the hearing that she will face bankruptcy proceedings if it is found that she cannot make the payments owed".

And she'll be out of a job in 2 years on top;
