owlface
I'm hoping to find someone local (ish) that owns or has access to a Volvo VIDA system. I contacted my local dealership to be told its £78 plus VAT just for them to plug the diagnostic machine in! All it is is an airbag light that needs to be cleared which came on after a seat was moved. Obviously I'm not looking for a freebie but a reasonable price for what's just a two minute job. euclid
If the light comes on after the seat has been moved then the wire that goes to the airbag has probably either broken,or the plug has been dis-connected and not put back .The light on means it will NOT work in the event of a collision,it cannot be simply switched off...I believe.... Just take it to any decent garage ,most have some diagnostic equipment capable of reading /clearing faults and lots cheaper than dealers .i only charge £10 for turning a light off but I'm away at min

sedith
a hard reset usually works by disconnecting the battery for around an hour which resets the ecu back to factory settings.

sedith
This myth has been doing the rounds for too many years. It works on my Insignia, in fact the mechanic at the VX dealer advised me to do this to reset the 'service vehicle soon' and the system not recognising the auxiliary devices. It works! I can only speak from experience. Diagnostic modules can be bought cheaply on ebay.
