Expats - What do you miss about Sheffield?

I lived in South Africa for five years, during the 70's and the thing I missed most was Henderson's Relish, my wife got a free ticket back to England during that time so I got her to bring me a bottle back - I still prefer it to vinegar on my fish and chips :thumbsup:

Swimming with the dead dogs &cats in the Don,O plus all the p.c.bs fm the steel mills (made my hair fall out at 70) the wet ,dirt and cold chilblane's ,headlice &allthat purple stuff dabbed over your face ,So what do i miss about Sheffield ?not a lot,came for a few visits 47-48 but never been back since

Chips and Gravy from the Chippy opposite the Nottingham House pub. ( Probably both now demolished ?).

The '' Bombsites '' that were used by second hand car dealers.

Getting sloshed in town and walking back to Woodseats.

The unemployment in the 1970's.
