Tomjames
Hows that working out for us? Do you think we've had high quality governments over the last 40 years only to be hamstrung by the EU over all those years or consistently a bunch of self serving arseholes? No party have had 40% either. So you want to give your rights away to the EU?
truman
This isn't 'just' about Sheffield. Genuine challenge? How about you saying what will be better if we remain? 'Everything back to normal, back on the gravy train lads'? Are you saying there's no gravy train in UK domestic politics.. ? Especailly if there's another 100million quid sloshing about every week.. Go on ..show me the financial advantages of for me of leaving the EU? To be so solidly behind leaving you must have a good idea as to what will happen here? I'm still undecided and I'd like to see what makes you so sure.. ---------- Post added 07-06-2016 at 12:22 ---------- Sheffield is held back by a conservative gov. With sheffield being the low wage city of the uk can you honestly say the EU has been successful at creating jobs? With respect that didn't answer the question... francypants
...... Choice. To do what? Make our own decisions. We're stifled at present with overbearing EU rules and regulations.
Tomjames
With respect that didn't answer the question... We will get 167 million per week back. However it's central government that decides who gets what.

What can't we do now that we could do after leaving? ---------- Post added 07-06-2016 at 12:26 ---------- We will get 167 million per week back. However it's central government that decides who gets what. As you've said that Sheffield is stifled by central government how's that going to work out? Do you reckon all the regional development sites would have happened if we hadn't been in the EU? Genuine question..
Tomjames
If the government devolve that money post brexit, in theory sheffield councils budget shortfall is plugged. More housing, better schools, better roads, better services.
Glennis
I believe we are one of the biggest economies in the world, we will always trade and other countries will want to trade with us. We are not about to become a failed state.
El Cid
But nothing has changed inside the EU either? . When car plants such has Nissan have opened, it has been aid that being inside the EU is one reason why the UK was chosen. And that was said years ago, not just in the run up to the EU vote.
