I don't believe that do you? Is this accepted by the high ups in the Church of England? The church and the monarchy operate hand in hand and the Queen is the head of the Church of England. Well it is up to her and without some major scandal, which is pretty unlikely for a 90 year old there is no reason to abdicate and every reason not to. As has happened in the past if the monarch is incapacitated or even too young, a regent (Prince Charles) would take over whilst his mother remained monarch. The Queen always seems to act very intelligently to me. I think Prince Charles will be a more than a competent future King. Hopefully it will be a long time before that event happens.
