Referendum polling how is it counted.

in 1975 it was obvious which way the vote had gone almost from the get go and every single area voted to remain except one, the ****lands, who voted to leave. The ****landers may reverse their previous decision this time while others who voted to remain last time will definitely vote leave.

are you sure my brother said my nephew(labour party activist) had been counting the postal votes.

Postal Vote Envelope 'B's do get opened checked and separated in advance, but the sealed Envelope 'A' is put in a Postal Voters' Ballot Box which goes to the count along with the rest of the Ballot Boxes from the Polling Stations.

Only at the count are the Envelope 'A's opened, the marked ballots sorted and counted.
