Mister M
sadiq khan's seat is up for grabs, it's a pretty safe seat so would make a nice place for david milliband to land should he wish to return to british politics who says they are joining to support corbyn? I doubt whether David Milliband would be an inclusive figure that Labour needs, so soon after Jeremy Corbyn, and the Chilcott Report That's the conventional wisdom being spoken about in the media. Perhaps the rise of membership in the LP since Corbyn became leader is just coincidental....
lottiecass
Corbyn is as much pm material as Foot was.Leave him as leader and the conservatives will get back in regardless of who they choose,if the election is going to be sooner than we think. banjodeano
Corbyn must realise the wider damage this is having on the Labour Party, and must realise that his position is untenable. It's been mooted in the press that Corbyn may use the opportunity with the publication of the Chilcott report to skewer Blair, then resign afterwards. That's a possibility I suppose. I think whoever takes over leader of Labour Party has to be inclusive and able to accommodate differing opinions and ideas. All big parties have to battle to appease egos as well as beliefs and ideas - as well as reach out to the wider electorate. Personally it would be good to see the new leader come from the soft left of the party. I think someone like Tristram Hunt or Chukka Umuna would be a mistake. People don't want Blair Mk 2. But nor do they want someone like Corbyn, who, because he cannot unite his own party, will not be trusted to unite the country. I wonder all these people joining the Labour Party on en masse as the moment to support Corbyn, do they really have the Labour Party's interests at heart? I'm not so sure. Isn't that what Corbyn has done, been inclusive, from day one he said "we are a broad church", he offered positions to the people he knew were his enemies, and they repaid his loyalty by stabbing him in the back, and even now he is holding out an olive branch to the people trying to depose him... London Mayoral election they were ready, but Labour won, council elections they were champing at the bit, but Labour won. They are ******* themselves in desperation to be rid of him. Not because of any great concern about the country, but because they realise the writing is on the wall for careerist politicians who are willing to lie, cheat, deceive and go on illegal wars whilst pretending to give a toss about normal people. The days of Mandelson and his crooked friends and Blair and his sucking up to Murdoch's media are over. The Westminster elite, those MPs who got their seats on Tony Blair's coat tails are feeling nervous, they are scared they may be forced to do a proper days work for a change. Well, those days are over if Corbyn is re-elected. Does anybody know the Constitutional position if the people chose to vote Corbyn back in as leader, but the Labour MPs won't support him? How can there be such a divergance between what the people want and what those who are supposed to represent the people want?
