foxy lady
'The Times' seems to think that my post #357 might be what happens- unless he voluntarily resigns. I can see 2 possibilities. 1. Labour MPs force Corbyn out and appoint/elect a new leader. This causes party membership revolt and party forms a breakaway "Socialist" Labour Party. 2. Corby remains as party leader, probably after some sham election where the MPs have little say. Labour MPs are forced out and form a breakaway "Peoples" Labour Party with perhaps 100 or more sitting MPs.

Penistone999
it's his manhandler and does this persons race and/or religeon matter? Alan clearly was using it just to describe the person , nothing else. No need to wave the race card . Nothing to see here.
ANGELFIRE1
I was only being descriptive so people know who I'm referring to. I sussed that out from your post, others seem to struggle, don't know why. Angel1.

It wouldn't be a "sham" election if Corbyn is a candidate as Labour party rules say the members get to vote who is the party leader. And since they introduced their "SWP and Tory supporters are allowed to vote if they've paid their £3" thing Labour MPs have even less influence than before. Norseman
Therein lies Jeremy Corbyn's popularity with the masses. He says what he means, and what he says chimes with the electorate who are sick of coniving, corrupt, insincere politicians. So is he, which is probably why he hasn't got many friends in Parliament. In reality if he doesn't resign fast there won't be a Labour party left to salvage either that or it'll push them back to the dark ages!

The important thing is that it splits the party in two. How that is achieved doesn't really matter.
blake
I don't think that they'll be a split and I'm not even sure if there will even be a leadership election this year when the odds are that if there is, Corbyn will win it if he doesn't resign, but stands. but that doesn't mean Corbyn will 'lead' Labour into the 2020 election. There is still plenty of time between now and then for Corbyn to mess up the job even more than he he has done already and lose a challenge to the leadership in 2017, 18 or 19. Even if Corbyn manages to get through this year, he will face a leadership challenge every year through this parliament and you know what they say. You can't win 'em all. Especially if you are fri**in' useless.
Eater Sundae
If he was only waiting for the Chilcott report, so he could put the boot in to Tony Blair from his position as party leader, then we could expect him to go now.
