The consequence thread (Brexit)

Recommended Posts

My fear, had we remained, was that we would more likely have become a racist country owing to problems created by an ever increasing number of immigrants, a poor integration policy, in addition to the frustration of being powerless to control those numbers.

You were right "Police have said the number of hate crimes recorded for the last two weeks in June has spiked by 42 per cent on this time last year.

A total of 3,076 incidents were recorded across the country between 16 and 30 June – a dramatic increase on the 915 reports recorded over the same period in 2015.

The biggest number of recorded incidents came on 25 June – the day after the result of the EU referendum – when there were 289 hate crime related incidents. "

One for the gloom and doomers,

"Now SOUTH KOREA wants British free trade deal as UK ministers struggle to cope with demand"

Looks like the EU might have to go to the back of the queue to negotiate trade deals with the UK :)

It quite weird what goes out of the country, apart from Compressed plastic waste, metal scrap or paper waste, which i guess they recycle better than us. I

seen rubber belt,( usually used in mining) transported to India and Asia to be used in irrigation ditches. So it quite diverse what we send them,

UK and South Korea trade

The EU-Korea FTA is estimated to be worth £49 billion to Korea and the EU. This represents a doubling in EU-Korea bilateral trade in the next 20 years compared to a scenario without the FTA.

UK goods exports to South Korea have risen 47.5% from 2010, the year preceding the FTA, to 2014. Korea made the single largest contribution to UK goods export growth in 2012 and exports reached a new historical peak in 2013.

South Korea is the third largest market in Asia/Oceania for UK exports (excluding the transport hub of Hong Kong) and the 13th worldwide overall.

Top 10 UK exports of goods (2014 - excluding oil):

Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery, parts.

Road vehicles.

Optical, measuring, precision, medical and surgical instruments.

Electrical machinery, sound recorders, television image.

Pharma products.

Pearls, Semi-Precious stones and precious metals.

Beverages and spirits.

Iron or steel.
